How to Switch Invoice Generation from Template Level to User Level
If you're a strategy creator managing multiple users across several strategies, handling invoices at the template level can quickly become messy. Each strategy generates its own invoice, which means a single user using multiple strategies ends up with multiple invoices.
To simplify this, you can switch invoice generation from template level to user level. This allows you to generate one consolidated invoice per user, even if they are subscribed to multiple strategies.
User-level invoicing enables you to combine all invoiceable templates for a particular user into a single invoice. Instead of managing separate invoices for each strategy, you can streamline billing and improve clarity for both you and your users.
This feature is especially useful for creators who:
- Offer multiple strategies
- Have users subscribed to more than one strategy
- Want a cleaner and more efficient invoicing system
To turn on this setting:
- Go to Invoice Template
- Click on the “More Info” button
- Carefully review the details and implications before enabling the feature
Before switching, make sure you understand the following:
- Irreversible Change
Once you switch to user-level invoicing, you cannot revert back to template-level invoicing.
- Cancellation of Pending Invoices
All pending Offline Variable Fee invoices raised before the switch will be cancelled.
- High Watermark Adjustment
The high watermark for each user will be recalculated. It will be set as the sum of all previous template-level high watermarks.
Final Thoughts
Switching to user-level invoicing can significantly simplify your billing process, especially if your users interact with multiple strategies. However, since this change is permanent and impacts existing invoices and high watermarks, it’s important to review all details carefully before enabling it.
If your goal is cleaner invoicing and better user experience, this feature can be a strong upgrade—just make sure you’re fully prepared before making the switch.
